Darkness has always been attractive to photographers. It is easier to concentrate at light and colors, while everything else is dark.
Boats are one of the objects that seem very interesting to me. Maybe, because in their way they are flying (floating actually), through the water. Especially older, wooden boats.
I found those boats on a really dark July evening (2006) in Mesologgion (Greece). Completely black background and some light from the public road was making the boats shine through the night.
