I was very much surprised to see cormorants in the area of Artemis in Greece, where I live. The small lake that exists in our area, was used for many years as a waste area. After that, it was supposed to be protected as a water land by the international conservation laws according to NATURA 2000 and RAMSAR conventions. Now it seems that no one is interested to do anything in this area.
Probably this is the reason that wild birds have returned to the area.
I was thrilled to see that!
