Festivals in Greece, are a great tradition and they are held all over the year. In most cases they are not something very dramatic. Most of the times, a flee, open market is constructed and the local people can get food or some basic home supplies. At least that was the image you could see some decades ago.
After the ’70ies, the image of those local festival markets changed and toys for childred were added and gradualy the sellers have become immigrands looking for a small income…
The photos presented here were taken about 1998/1999 during the celebration of Agios Eleftherios (15th of December) arround one of the famous churches of Athens, Greece.
For many of use the image of the stands with the colorful toys, or the food sellers, represent images of our childhood, both romantic and nostalgic.
All photos were taken on Fuji Provia F 400 film, as back then the digital cameras and the smartphones were not so popular.
It’s all about images, that make us remember… Enjoy!
