The following photo collection has a peculiar subject in the sense that it is about a small object, being there to serve just a humble purpose. The “bicycle light” that is there just to brighten our bicycle path during the night is a subject often neglected.
I was touched by the vintage bike lights I saw in the city of Amsterdam some years ago. Metal construction, often out of order but still telling a story. The completely rusty and destroyed light, the fully new one, the one missing parts, the one just being there forgotten. Others in fully operational bikes, others on bikes desserted for years…
Anyway those bike lights intrigued me and so I decided to give them a second chance to tell their story (actually the story you, the viewer, want to listen) through the following images. Enjoy…
